ISLANDS X WILDFARMED CHOCOLATE AND BANANA FRENCH TOAST-IE

Could this be the most regenerative breakfast recipe ever? Introducing the Islands x Wildfarmed Chocolate & Banana French Toast-ie. Made with our award-winning Chocolate & Hazelnut Spread and Wildfarmed’s delicious Regenerative Sliced Seeded Bread, this is simple, delicious, golden, crispy — all the ingredients you for a breakfast of champions or brunch recipe to make on repeat. Find a breakfast that tastes good and does good!

  • For the hot chocolate:

    • 1 heaped tbsp of Chocolate & Hazelnut Spread

    • 2 slices of Wildfarmed Regenerative Sliced Seeded Bread

    • 1 banana

    • 2 eggs

    • A knob of butter

    Optional extras: a dash of cinnamon for the egg mix or a sprinkle of icing sugar to finished 

    • Frying or cast iron pan

    • wide bowl or small tray for egg soaking

    • Gently toast your bread until slightly golden, this helps it hold together once soaked in egg

    • Spread a health layer of chocolate and hazelnut spread on the bread. Add slices of banana on top and then sandwich with the second slice of bread

    • Whisk the two eggs together in a tray, adding any additional spices you may like at this point

    • Soak the whole sandwich in the egg mix, making sure you cover both sides and crusts. Leave to soak for 10 minutes

    • Heat your frying or cast iron pan over a medium flame and melt the knob of butter in until bubbling.

    • Place your sandwich in the middle of the pan and pop a weight on top to get a good press. Fry on each side until a deep golden brown (around 5 minutes) and then remove from the pan

    • Add additional icing sugar or spread to finish off your toastie, and enjoy!
